How To Free Your Time

Being locked down by mundane tasks is all too common in our lives, but finding ways to free our time is a crucial part of business and life. It’s worth figuring out how we can create more time so that we can properly commit to the responsibilities that are important to us. Perhaps the only real way that we can achieve this is by automating and systemising our business.

If you don’t find a way to automate and systemise your business, you’ll be the one who is responsible for performing various tasks and all the things that need to be done. That means that your efforts will be used to work in your business, instead of on it. You have to work on your business in order to scale and grow it, and free up more of your own time.

While this sounds ideal, it can be tricky to figure out how to actually achieve it. To keep things simple, it’s worth realising that there are only two real ways to automate and systemise anything – by using either machines or people.

For machines, you can have software created that will automate many of the tasks that humans would otherwise have to do. There are also numerous software solutions available that can help free up more time in your business.

Tasks that can’t be completed by machines will require people, so you’ll have to find the right people to take care of those tasks for you. In order to make sure that the people you hire are working systematically, you’ll need to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or some type of system for people to follow.

By using these two approaches, you’ll find that you have more time to focus on more important matters – whatever they are to you. The following questions can help you determine what you can start applying to your business today –

  • How can I find other people?
  • How can I build out my team to fill the different roles?
  • How can machines/computer/software automate my business processes?

And the ultimate question – “what am I actively doing to replace myself within my business and each task that I do?”

By answering these questions, you’ll stop yourself from becoming stuck in your business. It’s time to wake up and shift your focus so that you and your business can transcend.
